After completing an Ag Science degree in 1992, Jed headed to a cattle station, south west of Katherine. He went on to spend over 25 years in the Northern Beef industry, including almost 20 years in Cattle Station management.

In 2018, Jed and his young family chose a lifestyle change and left the west Kimberley for the small regional Victorian town, Yackandandah.

A couple of years later, he started his own business in residential/rural fencing and rural services.
